Tukuche - 6920m

Destination: Annapurna Region
Duration : 25 days
Best Season : Mar-May; Oct-Nov

Grade : Mountaineering
Max. Altitude : 6920

Mt. Tukuche is in the northern part of Nepal, in the picturesque Hidden Valley in Mustang, formerly part of Tibet, but now a region of Nepal. It is a reasonably technical expedition climb but is considered low risk. The trip begins with a flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu. To reach Tukuche requires trekking via the Tatopani-Ghasa-Tukuche trail through the Annapurna Conservation area, and includes crossing the Kali Gandaki Gorge which separates the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges, bringing you to the base of the peak. Acclimatisation requires about 4-5 days at base camp before summiting via the north west ridge. From the summit you will have views of the Annapurna ranges, Tilcho Peak, Nigiri as well as the beautiful Thakali villages of Marpha, Tukuche, Syang and Jomson.
