Thorong Peak - 6145m

Destination: Annapurna Region
Duration : 18 days
Best Season : Mar-May; Oct-Nov

Grade : Hard
Max. Altitude : 6145m

Located near the famous Thorong La Pass, Thorong Peak provides one of the best opportunities to scale an over 6000 m peak while trekking in the Annapurna region. It is usually combined with the Annapurna Circuit Trek, a trail that takes you through a diverse and spectacular variety of landscapes with the final destination being the Mustang District. On the way you will cross the Thorong La Pass at 5416 m and from there you can access Thorong Peak, the first mountain to the south. It is a relatively untechnical climb and can be safely summited with minimal climbing experience, however it does require a high level of fitness and stamina. From the summit you can enjoy unforgettable views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Nigiri Peak, Tilicho Peak, the Mustang region and the Kaligandaki Valley.
