Surya Peak - 5145m

Destination: Langtang
Duration : 18 days
Best Season : Mar-May; Oct-Nov

Grade : Easy
Max. Altitude : 5145

Surya Peak is a relatively easy peak that can be combined with the Lang Tang Valley trek. It is located north of the Gosainkunda Lake, a holy lake in the Lang Tang region that attracts a large number of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. The trek itself explores the Lang Tang Valley, and continues on to Gosainkunda. From there you can easily access Surya Peak and from the summit of the peak you will have a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding mountains ranges including Lang Tang, Ganesh Himal, and Annapurna. Spring is arguably the best time to visit this region as the rhododendron forests are in full bloom. After summiting the peak you can continue on crossing the Gosakinkunda Pass and then returning via Chisapani, ending the trek at Sundarijal at Shivapuri National Park.
