Pokhalde Peak - 5806

Destination: Everest Region
Duration : 20 days
Best Season : Mar-May; Oct-Nov

Grade : Moderate
Max. Altitude : 5806

Pokhalde Peak is one of the easiest trekking peaks to climb and can be combined with the Everest Base Camp trek. This is a nice peak to climb during the snowy season, therefore it is more popular in autumn rather than spring. The base camp lies at the Kongma Lakes, an often frozen bed of lakes southeast of the Kongma Pass. From there you will climb the broken rocks covering the north-east flank of the mountain towards the crenellated rocky south ridge that leads to its tiny summit. From there, you will have a good panoramic view of the Himalayas. Due to the short climbing time and lack of technical difficulty, this peak is a great choice for those wanting to climb to high elevations without the need for any gear such as ice axes or crampons.
