Kopra Ridge Trek

Destination: Annapurna Region
Duration : 14 days
Best Season : Mar-May; Oct-Nov

Grade : Moderate
Max. Altitude : 3870m

Kopra Ridge is one of the best short treks in Nepal, located in an interesting and less visited area of the Annapurna region, and offering views that rival Poon Hill. The route to Kopra Ridge follows the main hiking trail towards Poon Hill but instead ascends to the ridge overlooking Gandaki Gorge where you can have the surreal experience of watching planes fly below you. Atop the ridge at 3660 m, is a community trekking lodge which enjoys an incredible view, one only recently discovered by trekkers. From there you can see over the gorge towards Annapurna South and Dhaulagiri, and at dusk the cliffs at Fang Nigiri take on a dazzling amber glow as they reflect the sunset. From the ridge, the holy Kaire Lake is well worth a visit and is only a short hike away.
