The Dhampus/Ghandruk Trek is a very popular short and easy trek giving nature lovers of any fitness level a chance to enjoy trekking in the spectacular Annapurna region. The trek takes you north of Annapurna and Machhapuchre, where you can experience incredible mountain views and local ethnic culture. Walk through rhododendron forests and agricultural landscapes as well as visit the villages belonging to the local Magar and Gurung people. At the climax of this trek you will reach Ghandruk Village, known as the centre of Gurung culture, and also know for its outstanding sunset and sunrise views of the Himalayas.

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu (1300m/4255ft)

Day 2 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu and trek preparation

Day 3 : Drive by (car/van/bus) 6 hr or fly (25 min) to Pokhara (914m/3000ft)

Day 4 : Drive (30 min) to Phedi (1130m/3707ft); trek to Dhampus (1700m/5577ft)

Day 5 : Trek to Landurk (1555m/5100ft)

Day 6 : Trek to Ghandruk (1940m/6365ft)

Day 7 : Trek to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara

Day 8 : Drive or fly to Kathmandu

Day 9 : Departure

Trekking Gear:

- Warm inner layer/base layer set
