Chulu West Peak - 6419m

Destination: Annapurna Region
Duration : 21 days
Best Season : Mar-May; Oct-Nov

Grade : Hard
Max. Altitude : 6419

The Chulu West Peak, along with Chulu East Peak form part of the group of four Chulu peaks, lying north of Annapurna and overlooking the Manang Valley, one of the highest valleys in the world at 5000 m. It is also known as Chulu Central. This peak is not especially technically difficult however due to its vulnerability to avalanches in certain conditions, it is best ascended slowly. The trip sets off at Beshi Sahar, the starting point for the Annapurna Circuit, before slowly heading towards the Manang Valley. Here you will have a day of rest where you can spend a day exploring the valley and acclimatising, before settling off towards Chulu West base camp. The climb itself takes approximately three days, and the summit provides an outstanding view of the entire Annapurna range and Gangapurna. Afterwards you will head towards the Thorung La and return via the route as the Annapurna Circuit.
