Annapurna IV - 7525m

Destination: Annapurna Region
Duration : 40 days
Best Season : Mar-May; Oct-Nov

Grade : Mountaineering
Max. Altitude : 7525

Annapurna IV is located in the heart of the Annapurna region, located between the summits of Annapurna II and III, and connected by a spectacular ridge which forms a wall connecting Annapurna I to IV and Annapurna South. The famous Machhapucchre is also located in this mountain range. As it is a relatively easy mountain to climb compared to the others in the range , Annapurna IV is a useful testing ground for preparing to climb other more technically difficult peaks at higher elevations. The climb requires three camps above base camp, with the route above Camp I becoming steeper and required fixed rope in some of the more difficult sections and then getting a little easier after Camp II. The ridge before the summit and above Camp III is demanding but the reward is worthwhile.
